Grammy Recording Academy present Certificate to Stonebwoy

American learned academy of musicians, producers, recording engineers, and other musical professionals famous for its Grammy Awards which recognize achievements in the music industry; Recording Academy, have presented certificate of participation to Livingstone Etse Satekla – a Ghanaian born Nickelodeon & BET | 3-time Reggae/Ragga & Dance-hall award winning artiste who performs under the name, Stonebwoy.

This certification from the Recording academy is in recognition of his monumental participation and contribution as a featured performing talent on the Grammy award-nominated recording “Avrakedabra” by Morgan Heritage – a Grammy-nominated Jamaican reggae band formed in 1994 by five children of reggae artist Denroy Morgan.

Stonebwoy becomes the only Ghanaian artiste of his kind to receive such an honor from the most prestigious awards scheme in the world. He is also a recipient of two billboard plaques.

Following the Grammy-winning success of_ Strictly Roots_, Morgan Heritage returned with Avrakedabra, and another melodically bright collection of contemporary reggae. The Morgan siblings invited a lot of guests to the fold, leading off the 14-song album with Mr. Talkbox (Bruno Mars) accenting the vocals of Peetah and Gramps on the one-drop, horn-driven “Want Some More.” while DreZion spiced up the evening on the ‘80s throwback keyboard tones of the danceable “Reggae Nights” featuring Stonebwoy.

Earlier, he was spotlighted as an African winner and nominee of both the BET Awards and Grammy Awards respectively, thus far, both international awards organization and media house, Grammy and BET International, acknowledged Ghanaian born reggae/ragga & dance-hall artiste in the Grammy Museum for his contribution to Sound of Africa exhibit, which showcases and celebrates the unique diversity of African music.

NEW YORK CITY – Sunday, May 24, 2020/Burniton Music Group – BMG/ – American lawyer and politician in New York City, and a member of the Democratic Party, Jesse Hamilton, has expressed a feeling of great pleasure and happiness for honouring multiple award-winning reggae/ragga & dance-hall honcho, Stonebwoy, for his immense contribution to the growth of music in the Caribbean.

In 2017, Stonebwoy received a citation for excellence from New York state Senate member, and Senator of the state’s 20th district presented Stonebwoy with the honour for his incredible and practical contributions to the development of Carribean music and arts in Brooklyn. The Caribbean music and arts development citation receiver was honoured after his performance at the 50th New York Caribbean Festival.

However, in a tweet, the politician who represented the New York State Senate’s 20th District, including parts of the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Crown Heights, Brownsville and East Flatbush from 2015 to 2018, demonstrated his joy stating that, “I’m so glad I had the chance to honor @stonebwoyb for his important contributions to Brooklyn and the world.”

Stonebwoy normally ragga in Jamaican Patois (Patwa or Patwah), and is considered a “multifaceted rapper” due to the various musical styles he possesses. In 2015, he received many awards and nominations ranging from “Artist of the Year” to “Album of the Year”. His sophomore album, Necessary Evil, was the recipient of 3 Ghana Music Awards from 6 nominations.

On 24th April 2020, Stonebwoy released his fourth studio album which featured the likes of Keri Hilson (US), Nasty C (SA), Diamond Platinumz, Alicai Harley (Jamaica), Jahmiel (Jamaica), Zlatan (Nigeria), Kojo Antwi (Ghana), Chivv (Netherlands) and Spanker (Netherlands). He also worked with producers like Mix Master Garzy, Streetbeatz, M.O.G. Beatz, Spanker, Riga, Phantom, Ipaapi and others.

Grammy Museum Acknowledges Stonebwoy for making Sound of Africa Exhibit possible

GREATER ACCRA – Sunday, May 10, 2020/Burniton Music – BMG/ – Spotlighted as an African winner and nominee of both the BET Awards and Grammy Awards respectively, international awards organization and media house, Grammy and BET International, have acknowledged Ghanaian born reggae/ragga & dance-hall artiste, Stonebwoy, in the Grammy Museum for his contribution to Sound of Africa exhibit, which showcases and celebrates the unique diversity of African music.

According to Ava Hall, Vice President, BET International Programming and Brand Advancement, Circa 2016 created and launched the history making exhibit in partnership with the iconic Grammy Museum to celebrate the musical and philanthropic contributions of African artistes and the first ever exhibit at the museum dedicated to African artists. The exhibit featured handwritten lyrics, memorabilia and artifacts from Stonebwoy, 2Face Idibia, Angelique Kidjo, D’Banj, Davido, Hugh Masekela, Ice Prince Zamani, Kojo Antwi, Laolu Senbanjo, Salif Keita, Sir Victor Uwaifo, Tabu Ley Rochereau, Viviane N’Dour, Yemi Alade.

As part of recognizing and applauding the work of the best musical artistes from the continent of Africa at the annual BET awards, the organization collaborated with the GRAMMY Museum to take inter-continental music celebration to new heights with the Sounds of Africa exhibit and to create this fascinating tribute to legendary, traditional and contemporary African musicians. And GRAMMY Museum also believes music is a gateway to learning and their mission is to explore and celebrate the enduring legacies of the creative process behind all forms of music through immersive and interactive exhibits and essential music education programs.

He is recognized as the king of reggae and dance hall artists in Africa. He is a global ambassador for sanitation and in September 2019, he was made the brand ambassador for Voltic Natural Mineral Water, in a deal that could be renewed after two years.

Stonebwoy wins Reggae & Dance-hall Artiste of the Year at 3 Music Awards

GREATER ACCRA – Monday, May 4, 2020/Burniton Music Group – BMG/ – Stonebwoy has once proven to be the reggae/ragga & dance-hall artiste in Ghana as he has won an additional laurel in the reggae/dance-hall category at the just ended third and virtual edition of the 3 Music Awards, organized by 3 Media Networks.

The multiple award-winning artiste competed against, J. Derobie, Ras Kuuku, Rocky Dawuni, Samini and Shatta Wale in an event which came live on May 2, from a location in Ghana’s capital, Accra, to audiences on Joy Prime, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram as well as partner web platforms. He becomes the first artiste to win more laurels from the reggae & dance-hall category.

The event featured only three physical performance blocks while others came through virtually. Originally scheduled for last month, organizers chose the option of holding it virtually due to Ghana’s ban on gatherings of more than 25 people, as well as social distancing measures to curb the spread of the global epidemic, Novel Coronavirus (COIVD-19).
